Arts council sponsoring
art rental exhibition

FOR FALL you can give walls a
totally new look with original
watercolors, oils, and acrylics and
prints rented for a few dollars a
month.

The September J}th Art Rental
exhibition is open from 6 to 8
p.m. in the gallery of Presentation
House, 333 Chesterfield, where
over 200 paintings, by Lower
Mainland Artists, are displayed on
modules for easy viewing. The
paintings, all selected in competi-

tion by experienced jurors, cost
2% of the artists’ value per
monrith, an average of $4 each.

The business and corporate sec-
tor, in particular, are invited to
select paintings for their offices,
and may keep them for three
months.

The show is sponsored by the
North Vancouver Community
Arts Council. For more informa-

Stroke club receives funds

THE NORTH Shore Stroke Club,
a chapter of the Stroke Associa-
tion of British Columbia, recently
received an $800 grant from the
City of North Vancouver.

The North Shore Stroke Club
offers a program that includes ex-
ercise, speech maintenance and
spouse support groups, and can be
reached by calling 734-3616,
Stroke Association headquarters.

The association, which is
primarily funded by the provincial
Ministry of Health and from indi-
vidual donations, wishes to alert
the public to confusion that may
have been caused by the addition
of the word “‘stroke’’ to the Heart
and Stroke Foundation.

The two associations are sepa-
rate entities with different activi-
ties and goals.
