Cirkids come te town NORTH VANCOUVER'S Kester Svendsen will be among 35 kids taking to a tightrope, riding unicy- cles and swinging on the trapeze when the Cirkids come to town. The Great Canadian Cirkids — the circus of children — will be coming to the Centennial Theatre in North Vancouver Nov. 20, 21 and 22 for shows co-sponsored by the North Shore News, the North Shore Credit Union and radio sta- tion CHQM. Formed three years ago follow- ing a kids’ circus performance at the Vancouver Children’s festival, the group features 35 kids from the ages of five to 17. “There will be juggling, unicycl- ing, contortionism and lots of other stuff,’ explained general manager and producer Jacqua Pratt. ‘‘Comedy bits, too."’ About 50 kids are involved in The Great Canadian Cirkids, but only 35 or so perform in each show.
