Al2-Sunday News, April 27, 1980 North Vancouver School District has taken its first steps to begin building Cove Cliff school in Deep Cove. Trustee Verna Smelovsky, in a written report to the board Tuesday, said Cove Cliff Architect Ron Howard has been told to activate the project. And the land agent has been instructed to establish the market value of the two parcels of land marked for the site which is owned by North Vancouver District Council. . The agent will be preparing documents for both the school boart and the districi council. The council approved second and third readings of a bylaw Apmil 14 to rezone the Cove Chiff site to ac- commodate school. Cove Cliff will replace Burrard View school. In addition, the ministry of education facilities the proposed ‘service has been informed of the council decision, Smelovsky said in her report. “The ministry has been requested to recognize the urgent nature of the Cove Cliff proposal and to assign a high priority to expediting the documentation associated with this project,” said the report. The board also passed a motion to send a letter to the Burrard View Association to express appreciation for its support and assistance on the Cove Chiff school project.
