Last year’s winner, Kay Kromidas, congratulates her successor. TINA KESHAVJI of Abbotstord was crowned this year’s Miss Teen Vancouver Lower Mainland Mon- day night at Centennial Theatre. The five foot, six inch tall, 17- year-old Keshavji beat 19 com- petitors for the pageant title, and is now eligible to enter the Miss Teen Canada pageant in Toronto next month. She also walks away with $5,000 cash and an all-expense paid trip to Toronto ta compete in the pag- eant. Keshavji, sponsored by the Clearbrook Lions Club, attends W.J. Mowat high school. She en- joys volleyball, badminton, cook- ing, and belongs to the student council multi-culture club. Other winners Monday night were Christine Webber, who was chosen as Miss Teen Vancouver Princess, and Bonnie-Pearl Hum- phries, as Miss Personality. The last time a North Shore contestant won the Miss Teen Vancouver pageant was in 1985. Last year’s winner was Van- couver’s Kay Kromidas. Longtime beauty pageant expert Gertie Todd has organized the Miss Teen Pageant for the past 10 Hearing Tests Set For Senior Citizens (North Shore}—Hearing tests will be given at the Beltone Hearing Centres on Tues. to Thurs. from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Anyone who has trouble hear- ing is welcome to have the test.
