It was at this time that his coaching of basketball and volleyball began. While at St. mp for al Anthony’s, he decided to run a Summer Basketball School. The first year fifteen registrants were involved. However, over the years the camps grew. John Mills, B.C.’s Basket- ball Development Coor- dinator states, ‘‘The All-Star Camps for younger players NEWS photo Terry Peters and Fiddle at Ambleside Tuesday night in one of the final women’s soc- Il-sta rs are the bet around.”’ Miscisco has written a basketball text titled ‘‘In- novative Basketball for Coaches, Players, and Physical Educators.’’ He has taught youngsters Harlem Globetrotter routines and at the present time he is one of the writers preparing coaching manuals for the government of Canada. He is considered the top resource person for teaching skills to the novice player. Over the years his basket- ball camps have had the best instructors available. These include: Ken and Kathy Shields - University of- Vic- toma; Stan Stewardson - Simon Fraser University; Mike McNeill - Former Simon Fraser University: Bob Molinski - Argyle Secon- dary School; Phil Langley - Windsor Secondary School- Bill Ruby - Gladstone Secon- dary School; John Kootnekoff - Former Simon Fraser University. While Director of the Volleyball Camps, Miscisco has Wayne Desjardins from Sentinel Secondary as the In- structional Coordinator. Miscisco states, ‘‘Desjardins is probably the best volleyball clinician in the province.. Not only does he teach high quality skills, but motivation is at a high level. Desjardins’ commitment to excellence is exemplified in the athtetic successes accomplished at Sentinel in recent years.”’ The Basketball and Volleyball Camps have three levels: Rookie, Junior, and Super Semor. They operate for 3% hours per day for five days. There are morning and afternoon § sessions with Super Senior Camps being held in the evening.
