They were determined to build a “Jaycee House,” a home for community groups and a meeting place for community organizations. Bnan Keast and Doug Hartry of the North Shore Jaycees took the concept from a dream and — with the sod-turning ceremony on Lillooet Road at the end of last month — finally turned itinto a reality. The project’ could not have succeeded without the fantastic success of the North Shore Jaycees Circus Fund raising project. The massive support of the North Shore Jaycees Circus by the community at large provided entertainment for many underprivileged groups, and organizations as well as providing the necessary project funding. The project could also not have succeeded without the active support of the District of North Vancouver in providing the land at a reasonable cost, and _ the Provincial Government of B.C. which provided one- third of the capital required for construction.
