In recent games, the Yankees shaded the Blue Jays 6-5 and the Red Sox edged the Cardinals 4-3 as Mark Naphin outpitched Keith Pollitt, Matthew Judd and Peter Nilsson. The Yankees topped the Braves 9-5 behind the pit- ching of Damon Pappas. The Braves then battled back, led by two homers from Brock Barabash, to outslug the Red Sox 11-10. The Yankees recorded another win when the teanr beat the Cards 7-2. Representing Lynn Valley in inter-league and in- ter-district play are the 13-vear-old Joe Shea Taylor Automotive Expos and the Lynn Valley Centre Blue Jays, the Senior Blue Jays, and the Big League Expos. Shore biathlon THE first North Shore Biathlon, co-sponsored by the North Shore News, is scheduled to begin with a splash Sunday, June 14, at 8:30 a.m. with a pool swim at the North Shore Winter Club. The competition’s 10-kilometre run section will follow. Biathlon check-in time will begin at 7:45 a.m. The first swim heats are scheduled to begin at.8:30 a.m. and will be run in six lanes with a maximum of six people per lane. Swimmers will be placed in heats with swimmers of similar abilities. Lap counters will be on hand to provide encouragement and help keep swimmers on track.
