Gibbs said the evening was a ‘‘great success,”” and
that it will help raise the profile of the Nerth Van-
couver transition house and emergency shelter, which
has offered support for battered women and their
children since 1979,

The board of directors of the North Shore Crisis
Services Society, which operates Emily Murphy
House, is in the process of negotiating a new home
for the (ransition house.
