The product has been used successfully by Ontario motorists during the past 10 years and is applied annually through a maintenance pro- gram at $99.95 an applica- a Rust — held in check tion. The manufacturer, Rust Check Corporation of Canada Ltd., Ontario, says, ‘‘considering the cost of body repairs or purchasing a replacement vehicle, it makes good sense to invest this small amount each year to preserve a vehicie.”’ to the uanderbody of a Chevette at should have little to fear about rust wrecking their beloved auto- mobiles in the future. Recently introduced to the West Coast through Newman Automotive, 717 West 15 Street, North Vancouver, Rust Check promises to take up rust protection at the point where wax or asphalt- based sealants leave off. Its distinctive characteristic is that it can be applied on older vehicles that already have metal corrosion in their body and frame works, as well as new ones. Instead of sealing metal parts from moisture, Rust Check evidently evaporates moisture, keeping rust- producing seams dry and in- hibiting further spread of rust. The precisely formulated compound penetrates through existing rust and sealants and creeps into seams. It is applied under ex- tremely high pressure pro- ducing a fogging effect which, according to the manufacturer, assures com- plete coverage. The creeping effect lasts for one year and evidence of this may be seen NEWS photo Eric Eggertson Bond sales soar DESPITE LABOR problems and the depressed conditions of the forestry and mining industry, sales of Canada Savings Bonds to employees on the payroll savings plan in B.C., and the Yukon in- creased by 22.4 per cent in dollar volume and 16.2 per cent in applications over last year’s total.
