Apples were preferred over oranges by néarly three to one and over bananas about four to one. The consumer survey was part of an eight phase study called the Canadian Apple Market Development Project. From the study, it’s ap- parent that apples are highly . appreciated. They have a strong image of being tasty, flavorful, juicy and providing a pleasurable eating experience. In ad- dition, they are seen as being healthful and nutritious. Oddly enough, the abundance of high quality apples available to Canadians has in some ways caused them to be taken for granted.
