capped a - dramatic
come-from-behind 4-3
win over Mission
Friday at West Van
Arena.

But then ‘the West Van
Juveniles were left in mid-air
when taking their next
_hurdle playing Richmond
Saturday at Richmond.

In that game, in order to
win the round robin series,
the West Van team was
required to score 12 goals in
defeating Richmond.

The complication. to the
’ Saturday game arose when
the referee called the game
with just under five minutes

remaining and the West Van

team leading 3-2.

An official protest has
been lodged by West Van

been undefeated, the
hometown. team fell behind. -
2-0 midway into the first
period with Mission scoring

its first goal only 30 seconds
into the game and then ~

adding another at the nine
minute mark.

Less than five minutes
before’ the . period .-ended
‘West Van closed the gap 2-1 |

with Dan Corrigan scoring
from Al Forster.

The only scoring in the
second period came at 14
seconds when Mike Carnsew
scored -unassisted for the
equalizer.

West Van went ahead 3-2
at 4:06 of the third period ~
with Pete Meldal finding the
target on a pass from For-
ster.

‘But midway through the
period Mission evened the
score at 3-3 to set the stage
for Orr’s overtime goal from
Mike Lavis and Carnsew.
