Brazi has some be lian heal Operations without anesthetic witnessed Anna Marie 0°Angelo News Reporter dangclo@nsnews.com A North Vancouver woman is con- vinced that she watched a Brazilian healer perform miraculous operations on terminally ill people. “Thave seen the ones from the Philippines. There is too much corruption there. There is too much chicken guts,” satd Shi Shani A Deva Durta, “This is truc. Itis unbelievable when you sce it,” said Shanti. Shanti, whose name means God’s holy mes- senger of peace in Sanskrit, is a “speaker and teacher of spiritual iaw.” She heard about the healing village of Abaja, Brazil through a friend in England and then read an article about it in Késdved Spirit maga- zine. Abaja is a small village located about two and a half hours inland by bus from Brasilia. Shanti was at the village for about a week in May where she obtained a videotape of 57-ycar- old healer Joao de Deus (John of God) at work. . For the last 40 years Joao de Deus has been a “Conduit for an “entity that controls (him) from the other world” called Dom Inacio. Dom Inacio lived in the village about 150 years ago. He was a surgeon and became a monk. Dom Inacio controls the healing village, said Shanti. On one of the days that Shanti was at rhe healing village, 18 “visible” surgeries were con- ducied by the healer. He also did “invisible surgeries” through prayer for sick people who preferred that instead, said Shanti. “You see people that are crippled that are walking. You see children’s mangled little legs straightening up. It is so wonderful and beauti- ful,” said Shanti about what she saw after 20 minutes of invisible surgeries. Shanti said the healer went to another room to perform the “visible” surgeries. The healer doesn’t use anesthetics. wary For Echelestereizc There is litte blood. The sick person has no pain during the operation, said Shanti. “He as talking to them when he is coing their brain surgeries. You see the cumors com- ing out,” said Shand. The videotape of the healer shows him doing eye surgery on a blind person with a small kitchen knife. A brain rumor was massaged cuz ef the top of another man’s scalp. Yet another man had a huge removed on his upper arm. The healer appeared to cut the man’s skin, open up a hole tn his upper arm and scoop out the growth. “He goes in there and digs this whole rumor out. The bow! is full of this tremor. You sce this man three hours later and it (the wound) is almost closed up,” said Shand. “This is not the slight of hand operations people have seen from other parts of the world. This is so wonderful,” said Shanti. . Shanti notes that the healer does nor ask for moncy for his endeavors. Shanti said the bealer treats about 1,000 people a day, three days a week. “What we were seeing was bus loads from Transylvania, from Scocand, from Australia. During the night all you heard was the roaring of the buses coming from all over the place,” said Shanti. Shanti went there with her sick friend who lives in Toronto. Shanti said her friend w cured of a bowel rumor. : Shanti acknowledges that many people would be skeptical about what happened at the healing village. “What I saw there was impossible to fake,” said Shand. When I came back, I said I would vow to facilitate people who have no hope to go there,” said Shanti. Shanti is planning to return to the healing village within the next few weeks with a friend who has a degenerative disease. For more intormation, call Katherine at 687-3796. as, growth” fro.
