AN 18-YEAR-OLD Vancou-
ver man and his 18-year-old
female passenger from West
Vancouver were taken to
Lions Gate Hospital with
minor injuries after the man‘s
vehicle left the roadway on
June 30 in the 2200-block of
Westhill Drive.

The vehicle, a 1992 Lexus,
failed to negotiate a curve, avcord-
ing to a West Vancouver Police
spokesmun.

The vehicle plowed through a
garden,

It finally came to rest after dri-
ving aver a four metre (14-foot.)
cement retaining wall, according
to police.

The driver of the vehicle, Tai
Yu Lin, is scheduled to appear in
West Vancouver provincial court
on July 18.

Lin faces a charge under the
Motor Vehicle Act of driving
without due care and attention.

FORMER WEST Vancouver
counciflor Joan Greenwood,

7, died of a heart attack on
June 19 in Hope, B.C.

Ms. Greenwood was on council
from 1959 to 1966 and again from
1968 to 1969. During that time she
was successful in vetting West
Vancouver's tough signage rezula-
tions passed.
