Project applications sought

PARTNERS IN. Science
Awareness, a@ grant program to
promote and develop a pro-
vince-wide innovation culture that
understands and values science
and technology, is now accepting
project applications, Advanced
Education, Training and Tfechno-
logy Minister Tom Perry recently
announced.

A total of $250,000 in grants is
available from the B.C. Science
and Technology Fund.

“I encourage applications from
provincial registered non-profit
societies with specific innovative
proposals to get the public more
actively involved in understanding
the importance of science and
technology to our economic de-
velopment and quality of life,”
said Perry.

Typical projects could include

public challenges, tours and in-
teractive displays and exhibits.

The Partners in Science
Awareness Programs is designed to
increase the numbers of students
in science, math and technology-
related programs and ic increase
the involvement and participation
of industry, organizations and in-
stitutions outside government in
science awareness activities.

“Schools, colleges, universities,
private-sector companies and in-
dividuals are invited to form
partnerships with eligible appli-
cants,”’ said Perry,

Applications can be picked up
at any government agent's office
in B.C. For more information,

The deadline for applications is
Nov. 30.
