Park opponents said the area is wild park and the proposed children’s play area would be un- safe because it would be close to the creek. But people who supported the tot park, initially estimated to cost $15,000, said it is needed for children in the area and it wiil help unite the community. During Monday's meeting, Ald. Paul Turner asked Mayor Murray Dykeman to ‘‘bend the rules’’ and Jet the unhappy residents ask questions, but the mayor said they had dealt with the matter and apologized to the group. Ald. Joan Gadsby said she was prepared to make a_ decision without the reports. ‘““We have a number of people sitting here for a number of hours,”’ she said. And Ald.
