It is also a fact that these jackets

formula, similar to petroleum jel-
ly, to0 provide maximum weather-
proofing with minimum condensa-
tion.

The secret to these jackets’
abrasion-resistant, weatherproof
properties is the dressing applied to
the surface. Similar to the oil
found on a waterfowl’s feathers,
the oil dressing, applied to the sur-
face of the long-stapled cotton
+ garment, doesn’t soak into the
pores of ihe fabric.

Rather, it sits on top as a pro-
tective layer. Unable to penetrate
the oil layer, the wind and water
are shed from the garment.
