Answer: [t includes your Air
Canada fare to London, your
Cyprus Airways flight to Cyprus
and return. Ht also includes first-
class hotel or hotel apartment ac-
commodation in Cyprus. If you
choose to pause in London, the
fares are slightly higher, but hotels
are included there as well.

Anyway, my phone has hardly
stopped ringing since the column
appeared, and if anyone has any
more questions there is a fine new
brochure available at all Wood-
ward’s stores.

More about Cyprus: Many
readers have called to give me ad-
vice about my own visit to the
island. Here are some of the com-
ments:

There is almost no crime on
Cyprus. You will feel perfectly safe
walking anywhere, anytinie.

Unemployment is virtually
unknown. (I was quoted three per
cent so no one is out to ‘get you’’
— no beggars, etc.)

Tourism is relatively uew in
Cyprus and the Cypriots are ge-

nuinely glad to have you come to °

visit. Their courtesy and general
helpfulness is spontaneous and
never motivated by tips.

Driving in Cyprus may be haz-
ardous to your health! The road to
the Troodos Mountains is best
taken by bus. One reader told me
that their bus driver said, ‘‘When I
die, I'll get to heaven faster than
the Pope since I've heard more
prayers.””

Another reader gave me a list of
‘“‘must see’’ places, including the
lost city of Salamas — underwater,
but the water is crystal clear. He
cautioned that it is very dangerous
to snorkle or dive in the area
unless you’re a five-star expert.
Another marvellous place to visit is
the St. Barnabas Monastery to see
the frescoes and other artwork.

Medical care, including medi-
cine, is free on Cyprus, even for
tourists.

Many hotels offer free shuttle
bus tours to interesting sites in the
vicinity. These include a guide who
gives you a walk-through. It’s wise
to check with your hotel before
paying for any tours in case there’s
a free one available.

I’m told that shopping on
Cyprus isn’t all that exciting. One
