When it comes to
determination are you less

your strength of purpose
become flabby and out of

shape from disuse? Then .

and feeding of a healthy
willpower.

The first thing to
remember is that will power
thrives on success. So if
you've been feeding it a
steady diet of defeat, it’s no
wonder it may be growing
puny ‘and debilitated. Take
the case of Tina S.,
housewife, mother and part-
time secretary. When Tina
began her first diet back in
secretarial school, she had a
will of iron.

Tina was pleased with her
success and enjoyed her
new-found slimness...for a
time. But a few years later,
when the pounds began to
creep up on her agian, she
found losing weight a lot
harder. The novelty of the
challenge was gone and
worse yet, she had waited
too long before deciding to
do something about her
problem. By now her poor
eating habits, as well as the
excess pounds they helped
put on, were like com-
fortable old friends. Tina did
finally manage to rid herself
of the weight, but, becarse

Tina tried to lose weight she
was alarmed to discover her *
willpower was almost
nonexistent!

With every slip, she found
it that much more difficult to
find the faith in herself to
begin again. Months later,
she is still struggling to lose
her first 10 pounds, and

willpower is not something

is by setting very small goals,
remaining on a food plan for
the next day, or even for the

patience, we will begin to
see the results on the scales.
