and related heart diseases
claim 83,000 Canadians’
lives - more than any other
disease. More than half of
the victims die outside of
hospital; often while family
and friends stand by unable
to help.
' In addition, many people
die as a result of drowning,
electrocution, suffocation,
drug overdose and food
choking. C.P.R. could and
has saved many lives.

What is C.P.R.? When
breathing and/or heart
stops, the person is not
immediately dead. Death
actually occurs when the
brain dies, which takes place
between 4-10 minutes later.
