Burnaby fails to halt West Van powerhouse

Northridge’s West Van Rockets kept their
unbeaten string going on the weekend by
dr®pping the Burnaby Barons 5-3 and not-
ching their twelfth straight win in Sunday’s
Metro League action at West Van Arena.

After a scoreless first
period the Rockets opened
the scoring with a shorthand-
ed goal at the 2:29 mark of
the second period when
some good forechecking at
centre ice paid off for the
Northridge team and Barry
Mulvaney banged in Jim
Bubr’s rebound to make it 1-
0.

Just under four minutes
later Jeff Durrant poked in
the Rockets’ second goal
from a goal mouth scramble
with Mark Oliver and Dan
Corrigan drawing the assists.

At the 8:27 mark a relay
from Mark Ingram = and
Norm Sawers found Steve
Stuart all alone at centre ice
and Stuart make a good deke

an open practice and it will
be held Monday, Dec. 22
from 11:30 am till 1:00 pm.

about 20 minutes of practice

over the P.A. system by
head coach Harry Neale —
followed by a full team
scrimmage. Each _ person
attending will receive an
autographed lineup sheet
with which to follow the
scrimmage. Special treats

kiddies and all concession
stands will be open for food
