Hawaii's best female
marathon and long distance
runner for the past seven
years, Joni Pagala, is among
the entrants for the Van-
couver International
Marathon, Sunday, May 4
1980. The twenty-three year
old first native HAWAIIAN
across the line in the HONO-
LULU Marathon, in 1977, 78
and 79 covers the distance in
2 hours 55 minutes.

Miss Pagala was the State
Cross Country Champion in
1975 and held the mile
championship (5 mins. 14
secs.) in 1973, 74 and 75. For

into a sister-city relationship
with Honolulu. The first
British Columbia woman
home on May 4 will be
awarded a trip by Canadian
Pacific Airlines to the
Honolulu Marathon in
December 1980.

in the eight kilometre run

at any neighbourhood
Community Centre, YMCA
office, or the Vancouver
Parks Board.
