All the latest innovations in pleasure boating will be exhibited at the 11th annual . Vancouver International Boat Show, February 2 through February 11 at the Pacific National Exhibition, The Boat Show is produced by Canadian National Sports- ment’s Shows and sponsored by the MTA of B.C., an association of 110 manufact- ' Urers, .. the | service and. retail dealers which promotes and polices pleasure boating. Fieldwalker says that the industry generally is rallying after the sag from peak business years of the early 1970's. *‘We'’ve been affected by the Canadian economy like everyone else,’’ he says. ‘‘And we've had stiff com- petition for recreational dollars from skiing, tennis, golf and bowling.’’ Sales throughout the boat- ing industry have been increasing in spite of the times, he adds, and ‘‘We’re looking forward to a promis- ing year.”’ ‘*Pleasure power-boat companies are doing well and the demand for yachts, especially standard sail- boats, is stronger than ever. overall, it’s a much healthier business atmosphere."’ ...custom, one-design and cruising. 8 to 80 feet. : OCEAN CRUISER { ©) With skeg rudder. The doors will be open weekdays from 6-10:30 p.m., Saturdays from 1-10:30 p.m. and Sundays from 1-6 p.m. Admission is $3 for adults and $1 for senior citizens and youths aged five to fifteen.
