Gregory d’Ambrosio, a
newly-graduated forester
when he took the post eight
years ago. He has a staff of
seven and a budget of
* $175,000, including salaries.
He works with a volunteer
commission of five com-

some branch of forestry or
its products.

responsible for the
beautifully controlled,
“never-changing” look of

They are told that the result
of such control is what at-
tracted them in the first
place. If objection continues
there is the option of a court
hearing but in eight years
d’Ambrosio says he has not
had to go that far. The

authoritative tree bylaws are
as much a part of Carmel’s
