NORTH SHORE runners fared
well at the 10-mile Tour de Grand
Marnier Road Race and Relay
held Saturday at the University of
B.C. campus.

North Vancouver’s Bernadette
Duffy set a new course record for
women, She covered the distance
in an impressive 57 minutes and
49 seconds, finishing 14th overall.

Meanwhile, Burnaby’s Hans
Fenz set a ew Canadian record
for men in the 55-59 age group
with a time of 57.09 — shaving

eight seconds off the previous re-
cord,

Another North Shore resident,
Neil Wakelin, crossed the line in
57.55 to capture the men’s title in
the masters category for ages 40
and over. In the women’s masters
category, Stephanie Fast finished
in 1:69.11 to win the title.

The. relay division was won by
Chris Moore and Andy Cooper
who posted a combined time of
55.27. They split the 10-mile
distance.
