7 By Ann Hamilton Cantributing Water THE DUNDARAVE Hoedown is a iamily event that continues to grow in popularity. Each year an increasing number of peo- ple look forward to its return. Say organizers, ‘People are asking questions about the hoedown, and early indica- tions suggest it’s going to be a big hit again this year.’ The event will take piace on Friday, Aug. 9 from 7 to 11 p.m., and there will be a welcome speech by West Vancouver Mayor Mark Sager at 8 p.m. There will be free face-painting and B, balloons; popcorn and candy floss will be offered at minimal prices; and street entertainers will demonstrate their talents throughout the evening. Performing at the hoedown bandstand for the first time will be The Fabulous Rockolas.‘This band was highly recom- mended and we are sure everyone is go- ing to enjoy the music,” says coordinator Darlene Hayne. Sillery has a passion for life and a talent ior getting people of all ages to par- ticipate. Organizers say this is a green event and everyone is reminded to use the recycl- ing bins, and if possible, tring plates, cutlery and drinking vessels from home.
