The Vancouver " Squash
League opened its season

_ this week without much of a

bang for the North Shore
Clubs.

The Division I defending
champion, Evergreen I, was

' idle with a bye as were

Evergreen 4, Courthouse 1,
2, and 4 and Hollyburn
Country Club’s two teams.
For the teams seeing
action, Courthouse 2 lost to
Jericho 3, 19 -17. Jericho 1,

. always a tough division 1

side, beat Evergreen's
second team 2 matches to 2,
while Evergreen’s third team
turned the tables on Jericho
2, winning 19-17.

A real powerhouse was

Evergreen 5, playing. in
division 4, which defeated an
improved but outclassed

Thursday, October 1 and
runs through October 17 at
the North ‘Shore Family
YMCA, 1735 Inglewood
Avenue in West Vancouver.

YBC is open to boys and
girls in Grades 3 to 9,
features equal playing time
and actively encourages
mass participation, fair play,
skill development and fun.

Games will be played at
the Y or Hillside Secondary.
