A North Vancouver man
was convicted Thursday of
raping a woman who had
been living at his home and
will be sentenced Friday,
March 20.

Gus Montecalvo, aged 19, _
had pleaded not guilty at an
earlier hearing to raping a
19-year-old woman at his
home address of 404 West
Esplanade last September.

The trial had started
February 26 and: resumed
February 27 and then last
Wednesday before a verdict
was finally declared
Thursday.

Montecalvo has been
remanded in custody to
await his sentencing.
