Madeline hopes to one day do some drawings of her own. Gordon Smith was happy to see friend Carotine Cavelti (right) and her nine-year-old daughter Carlina Jow (who is also a budding artist). Michael Dicks (lefi}) and Encore Catering owner Ray Varoni were on nand to ensure that the food plates and the glasses were full. Seycove teacher Phyllis Surges enjoyed chatting with North Vancouver school district superintendent Robin Brayne. Phyllis teaches Grade 7 and 8 students. Ron Longstaffe (left) is one of Vancouver's biggest art donors. He and fellow art collector Michael Audain are both great friends of Gordon’s. Ron has known Gordon for close te 40 years. Eight-year-old Claire Dentey is enrolled in the Artists for Kids program. She likes drawing the best and includes animals, flow- ers and Easter bunnies as her subject matter. The dynamic Diana Zoppa, co-owner of the Marquis Consulting Group, looked great, espe- cially since she is the proud mom of a handsome one-year-old baby boy. oe, d j Retired art teacher Ed Sunday still goes back to school now and then, but mostly as a substitute. mith celebrated with show ARTISTS For Kids is an amazing pregram that allows North Shore kids to get a chance to further their art education. Protessional artists donate their work which is then sold to raise funds for the program. It is a great blend and voungsters all over have reaped the benefits.
