Serfdom here we come WHILE THE Russians march down the road to freedom, this country stumbles down the road to serfdom — tharks to obliging politicians, Organized Jewry, and the travesty known as “human rights.”’ i refer to the result of the Maicolm Ross case in New Brunswick. Among other things. New Brunswick is a long way off. But this thing affects you, for there is no future in walking by on the other side of the road, like the Pharisees. A lot of Germans did that in Hitler’s time. So did the Russians in Stalin's time. We haven't yet got around to stuffing people in labor camps, but we can stuff them into jail for expressing unpopular views and we can deny them their right to employment, Our so-called Charter of Rights and Freedoms, meanwhile, ain't worth the paper it’s written on if powerful groups don’t like what is being said. The Ross case is a disgrace ina country that warbles about being “strong and free.” Ross is or was a teacher who wrote books, and he believes that there is such a thing as a Zionist conspiracy and that it is a danger to Christianity. He also denied the Holocaust. So what? No one was forced to buy his writings. Everyone was entitled to ridicule what he said, including the Jews. But that wasn't enough for them. They wanted his head and they have it, thanks to those politicians and to the university professor, one Brian D. Bruce, who sat ona human rights board of inquiry — if that term docsn’t make you laugh too much. Bruce could hardly have been more savage. He ordered that Doug Collins ee ON THE OTHER HAND Ross be placed on an unpaid leave of absence for 18 months. The man may be offered a non- teaching position (in other words he can become a janitor), but if he does he may only be paid as such, If he has not been offered and accepted such a job at the end of 18 months, he's out anyway. For good. Even if he does get a job sweep- ing the school yard, he loses it if he writes on forbidden subjects or sells any of the books he has writ- ten. Ross is a married man with four children, But that doesn't scem ta worry his ‘human rights" judge. The professor's findings have delighted not only the pressure Bids recetved on Howe Sound highways contract TWO COMPANIES have submitted detailed proposals for the Howe Sound road and bridge maintenance service area. Transportation and High- ways Minister Lyall Hanson said Capilano Highway Ser- vices and Whiteline Road Maintenance have submitted proposals in the next step toward choosing a contractor to maintain roads and bridges in the Howe Sound service area for the next contract period. Capilano Highway Services currently carries out road and bridge maintenace in the Howe Sound and Sunshine Coast areas. Whiteline Road Maintenance, through its af- filitate Sanders and Co. Con- tracting, has completed a number of road building and rehabilitation projects for the ministry. Carson Graham Handsworth W.V.S.S. Sentinel Seycove Windsor Sutheriand Collingwood S.T.A. Keith Lynn Tate ern o The present contract expires on Nov, 14, and the transpor- tation and highways ministry expects to have a new 22-year contract in place carly this fall. Driver Training since 1961 groups whu have gained this vic- tory against the freedom to publish, but also New Brunswick Attorney General James Lockyer, who stated in connection with this case: “There is no place in this socie- ty for the promotion of wicked thoughts."" : Perhaps he should launch a prosecution against the United Nations, which passed a resolution declaring that **Zionism is Rac- ism.*' The tocal school board, defying Jewish pressure, had refused to fire Ross. And with good reason. He had never mentioned the Jews in class, and was seen as a top- rate teacher. Bruce’s other rulings constitute a down-the-line edict governing thought control in the schoals with regard to race and religion. Big Brother will be watching them. Also their teachers. Then there’s this wonderful bit. The professor states that all New Brunswick school boards should “teach respect for individual rights and tolerance of dif- ferences."’ Sure. The way he has observed Ross's rights and toler- ated his differences, no dowdt. Did anyone mention doublespeak? Worse is to come. As the law stands now, Ross could not be prosecuted under our lovely hate laws because he writes from a religious point of view. Lockyer is out to remove that protection. He has support from other attorneys general, including our very own Russ Fraser, and you can bet that those lickspittles in Ottawa will do the necessary. If a commie were being hound- ed in this way, you can bet the leading lights of our brave media would be out there howling. As things are, though, they will be as quiet as mice, just as they have been in the Keegstra and Zundel cases. This matter will do nothing to destroy anti-Semitism. It will only enhance it. in the meantime, perhaps frecdom-lovers should take off for the U.S.S.R.
