WELCOME to your Best of the North Shore Best. In this first anaual salute to local enterprise,
the North Shore News has compiled i input from its readers on what they believe is the best in
a host of business and service categories on the North Shore.
Votes were tabulated from the thousands of ballots distributed throughout the
North Shore in the News.
Categories ranged from Best Fine Dining and Best Neighborhuod Pub to Best
Auto Dealership and Best Barber.
Voter response to the poll registcred well bevond enthusiastic.
Winners in the 68 categories received notification of their ringing public
endorsement with similar enthusiasm.
The whole exercise was gratifiing for all involved.
Dare we call it a win-win-win proposition? Wedo.  .
Readers got a chance to express their views on local businesses and express their appreciation for jobs well
done; local businesses, meanwhile, got a chance to reap some well-deserved endorsement from their
clientele and the North Shore public.
The rest of us get to sing some of the praises of life on the North Shore,
which are multifold. :
And the sound vou hear is that of a community celebrating itself
— an exercise in which it indulges far too rarely:
In keeping with the spirit of that celebration, the North Shore News adds its applause
to that of the community in this special Best of the North Shore feature.
The first annual North Shore News readers’ poll is just that: a Girst annual event.
Response to it and the benefits generated by it demand thar it become a
North Shore tradition.
