Shore natural history NORTH SHORE Continu- ing Education is offering a _ selection of courses to peo- ple who are interested in natural history. Of particular interest to area residents is ‘Natural History of the North Shore’ (ET51) with ex- perienced naturalist Terry Tobin. A series of three classes, the course will feature illustrated talks, demonstrations and possible field trips to examine both marine pants hands-on experience in searching for plant or invertebrate fossils in rare fossil beds in British Columbia and Washington State. A hammer, proper footwear, safety glasses and appropriate dress are required. The course is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 8 and departure will be from the Lucas Centre at 8:30 a.m., return- ing at 5 p.m. For bird lovers, the term offers ‘“*Feathered Friends in The Wetlands’’ (TR78), a journey to the Boundary Bay wild fowl wintering area, on Saturday, Feb. 8 from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Travel will be by carpool from the Lucas Centre.
