ONCE AGAIN, the Judith Mar-
cuse Dance Company is organiz-
ing a car raffle fundraising event.

Sponsored by Summit Motors,
the winner of this year’s draw
could drive off in a brand new
Mazda Miata, which has a retail
value of $24,549.

Tickets are $10 each, obtainable
by phoning 985-6459. Draw date
is July 31, 1991,

In order to meet costs, the
Judith Marcuse Dance Company
was forced earlier this vear to
shorten its production season by
five weeks. The company now
reports that its 1991-92 season has
been unaffected, with plans for
uational and international touring.

Mayors
remember
Armenians

NORTH SHORE mayors have all
issued proclamations declaring
April 24 Armenian Memorial Day
and will be participating in a
commemorative celebration at
Robson Square on Friday, April
27.

“The event is to remember vic-
tims and provide more informa-
tion to the public regarding the
genocide perpetrated by the Ot-
toman Turks in 1915,”” says Greg
Yagjian of the Armenian Cultural
Association of BC. ‘‘More than
1.5 million Armenians were mas-
sacred and current generations are
still being affected,” according to
Yagjian.

The event will take place at 8
p.m. in the Judge White Theatre
at the Robson Square Conference
Centre. For further information,

Artists can
enter fair

THE NORTH Vancouver Com-
munity Arts Council is now seek-
ing submissions from local ar-
tisans for table space at the 12th
annual juried Craft Fair.

The fair, traditionally held at
the Civic Plaza (14th and Lons-
dale) takes place June 20-29 this
year (except Sunday). It will be
held in conjunction with North
Vancouver’s Folkfest Celebration.
Table space is $45 per artisan.
