THE NORTH Shore Information
and Volunteer Centre is seeking
‘volunteers to assist local non-profit
agencies. The following are just a
few of the options available.

coachs of five to 12 year olds.

Volunteering Towards Employ-
ment, a free information session
presented by the North Shore in-
formation and Volunteer Centre at
Canada Employment Centre,
discusses volunteering as a step
towards a job. The one-hour ses-
sion will also stress the considera-
tion of personal goals when, choos-
ing a volunteer position.

Jeannie Cook, a newcomer to
North Vancouver, attended the
‘first session in January. She agreed
with the benefits portrayed and
now volunteers on a weckly basis
for the North Shore Information
and Volunteer Centre writing the
Options. for Volunteers column
appearing in the North Shore
News.

Cook, who is trained as a iand
‘survey draughts person, feels that
her volunteer involvement will
-provide her with contacts and fa-
~ miliarity in the community.
