He was found at 8:15 p.m., hanged by his own shirt which had been tied around the cell bars. He was given | mouth to mouth resuscitation, but éfforts to revive him by RCMP officers and by staff of Ligns Gate Hospital proved futile. An RCMP spokesman said the man had been checked in his cell 15 minutes before he was found hanged and that an inquest is expected to be held. Police are withholding the identity of the man while they attempt to contact next of kin. 50% pay increase was the key to unlocking strike ‘Four weeks. and an average SO per cent wage increase later, the strike at Schlage Locks is over., The 189 members of the Canadian Association of Industrial, Mechanical and Allied Workers (CAIMAW) voted 77 per cent in favor of a 33 month contract that brings the average wage to $8.44 an hour, said union representative Cathy Walker.
