Nothing can compare to the tangled affairs of Iolanthe. In Gilbert and Sullivan’s light ‘opera, the celebrated fairy marries a mortal, gives birth to a half- mortal, half-fairy who she tries to get elected to British parliament. Things get pretty confused in lolanthe, but it hasn’t stopped the North Shore Light Opera from mounting its season opener at Centennial! Theatre. Dennis Kristos directs the cast of 35 volunteer actors, with musical direction by David Millard and choreography by William Rose.
