They‘Il be here to star in the movie thriller, Russia House. Some of the location sites for that movie are rumored to be on the North Shore... Tickling those ivories to a sell-out crowd at the Cen- tennial Theatre recently Ze was music man Frank Mills. Pianoman Frank Mills was sim- ply delighted with the sold-out house at North Van’s Centennial Theatre last week. He's been on a 16-city tour and was feeling a bit tired, but the audience response was all he needed to put on an excellent evening of entertain- ment. He’s made his home in the Bahamas for a few years now, and he also has a farm in Vermont, but he does like to get back to Canada at least once a year. And he loves our West Coast, especially the rainy days because, as he said, “They're so refreshing!’ Oh! sae COCKTAILS ¢ Good to see so many North Shore faces at the memotial ser- vice for the late restaurateur, hotelier and showman, Frank Baker, last Friday. Well-known lawyer John Taylor and Mrs. Taylor; West Van's Gordon Rowntree and his wife; musicians Pat Trudel and Stu Barnett; West Van artist, Mary Parsons and her mum and dad, Grace and Ray McCarthy; taxman David Ingram: retired Vancouver Police detective Bill Caros; hotelier Roy Lisogar. who's looking very well after his serious illness a few months back, and who is building a new house on the West Van waterfront; re- cordman Emerson Short and his wife, Fran; and businessman jim- my Pattison. It was Vancouver AM president, Hilary Wooler of ‘West Van, who assured everyone that there will be a tribute dinner, organized by the tourism group, to honor Frank’s memory. It will be held in January or early February... Great to see former CBC-TV news anchor Cecelia Walters at Le Meridien on Monday for UNICEF's fund-raising luncheon. She's been on maternity leave, having given birth to a baby girl, Kalla, last August. She plans on being back in front of the cameras by January. Cecelia was emcee for the lun- cheon and fashion show that was arranged by UNICEF's Shirley Briggs of the North Shore, and the fabulous fashions were from Marilyn Diligenti’s Champagne Taste in West Van. The red-head- ed Marilyn looked as good as her fashions, in a cream-colored maternity pant suit. She's the wife of Carlos Dili- genti, one of the famous Argenti- nian quintuplets, and they have five sons of their own. ranging in age from 11 to 20. Marilyn’s delighted to be preg- nant again and everything is going well.
