Library closes
for moving

THERE'S GOOD news and
bad news for the patrons of
North Vancouver District
Library’s Capilano Branch.
The bad news is that their
library, which has been tem-
porarily ‘located at North
Star School, will be closed
after Saturday, September
2).
The good news is that the
-branch ‘will re-open in its

beautiful newly-expanded

building in Edgemont
Village in mid-October.

The three-week closure is
to allow time for staff and
helpers to move back the
furniture, fittings, 5,500 feet

of shelving and 51,000
books, some of which have
been in storage during
reconstruction.

The Library Board con-
fidently expects to be able to
open the branch to the
public soon after Thanksgiv-

.ing, and the official Re-

opening Ceremony will be at
2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oc-
tober 26.

Loan periods from the
temporary branch at North
Star have been extended.

New library hours are:
Monday to Thursday, 10
a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday and
