A delivery driver for a
Chinese restaurant was
robbed of $300 in the early
hours of Saturday morning
last week after being lured
into a West Vancouver
street by a phony call for a
meal order.

Pink Pear! restaurant in
Westview Shopping Centre
received a call for a meal
delivery to Queens Avenue
in West Vancouver and the
delivery boy was sent to the
address given to confirm the
order because of confusion
over details of the phone
message.

When he arrived at the
address that had been given
the occupant told him there
had been no order placed for

A North Vancouver
woman who lost conscious-
ness after her home caught
fire Tuesday was found by
District firemen when flames
were only about 12 feet away
from where she lay.

The fire started in the
bedroom of the home at
1290 Argyle after the woman
had dropped a lighted
cigarette down the back of a
chair and then gone to bed.

She was awakened by
smoke and left the bedroom,
