Conceived in: aid of the North Shore Arts Centre, the sale attracted approxmmately 1500 people whose pur- chases contributed over $3,500 towards the Pesentation House fund- raising drive of $14,000. An anction, enjoyed by all in attendance was conducted by Vancouver actress Nicki Cavendish, dance en- terpreneur David Y.H. Lui and Presentation House Mianager Christopher Tyrell. The auction was made possible by generous donations from many businesses on the North Shore and netted = over $1,100 towards the final total. One of the most coveted items auctioned was an original Michelin T-shirt, donated by volunteer Bente Joergensen, which com- manded the fantastic price of $34.50 from none other than Spring Sale = co- ordinator Reva Robinson! Manning the toy booth was Hal Lund of the B.C. Lions; North Vancouver City Mayor Jack Loucks was in charge of the White Elephant booth, assisted by Ron Huntington, Con- servative M.P. for North Vancouver Capilano and Angus Ree, Social Credit MILA. An enthusiastic band of volunteers deserve plaudits for the many hours they devoted to sorting rummage and_ generally ensuring a successful day. Honorable mention goes to the North Vancouver Youth Band for the lively music they provided; to the Whitecaps for allowing us to show their 1979 Highlights Film; to Madame Phoenix who told fortunes, to Patza the Clown, who delighted children with temporary tatooes, and to Sundance Trampolines for the loan of thew trampoline.
