The dispute revolves around a 10 foot strip of land adjacent to the Casanos’ lot which they wish to have ‘legally attached to their land from its ownership. How much they should pay for that and what the City should do about lane allowances that haven't been used for lanes has been a matter of heated discussion at recent council meetings. - Talk on the = specific property dispute, however, present City vices Woolco, has been guarded. It is customary for City council to deal with specific land issues in in-camera sessions. Alderman Stella Jo Dean has urged council to allow . the couple title to the land for the symbolic amount of one dollar. The couple's spokesman, Pat. Burns, has also urged council to take that course. They have been offered the land by the City for $10,000. At one point Mayor Jack Loucks overruled aldermen's objections to Payne's speech, and Payne con- tinued talking, but shortly after he called the matter to a vote. Aldermen Ralph Hall, Elko Kroon, Stella Jo Dean and Bill Sorenson voted against allowing Payne to — continue.
