DINING

Pizza — is trend-proof.

It has varied about as much
as Tasos furniture and its Greek
soundtrack.

As have the menu's prices.

Entrees reside primarily
in the SIT ro S16 zone
favored by those secking maxi-
mum return on their dining
dollar.

And the food is rock solid.

Plates are loaded to the
gunnels with the rice, Greek
salad, potatoes and slabs of
meat diners trom the °70s
would demand from a
Mediterranean chop house.

Current Tasos custodian
Peter Katerelos ensures that
the menu is delivered with
good-natured efficiency and
that the second-storey win-
dows are open full on a hor
summer evening to let in the
full benetic of a West
Vancouver sea breeze.

All else is consistent with
the original Zizsos attraction,
which appears to have waned
little since 1970. There is no
pretension to anything but
what it is.

Low-key ambience, full
plates, low prices and a fully
restored slice of dining as it
used to be when the North
Shore had only the most rudi-
mentary array of restaurants.
