By the end of the three- hour debate at North Vancouver's Centennial Theatre, it seemed the grey- ing crowd had come to praise Pierre de Savoye, rather than bury him. The evening was orga- nized and hosted by North Vancouver Reform MP Ted White. White told the crowd he . had received a few complaints prior to the debate for invit- ing a separatist to speak at the forum. ‘To test the spirit of the . audience, White distributed two slips of paper — a green one with the word Yes on it, and a red one labeled No. White asked those gath- ered if they thought the debate was a good idea. Red cards dominated. Kinsella took the message and sar down. His question was the only one of the night that con- fronted White's motives. It Was also the only ane for which White asked the audi- ence for guidance as to whether the questioner should continue.
