By lan Noble News Reporter While North Vancouver City, North Vancouver District and West Vancouver permit values shot up by at least 18%, municipalities in the Greater Vancouver Regional District showed a small drop. GVRD figures reveal values for all types of permits — residential. industrial, commercial, institution- al and miscellaneous — in North Vancouver City jumped 75% to $43.8 million from $25 miflion in 1993. The bulk of all construction on the North Shore occurred in the residential sector. West Vancouver had $83.9 mil- lion of residential construction, $9.7 of commercial activity, $1.7 of institutional development ‘and $1.9 million of miscellaneous con- struction in 1994. North Vancouver City provided permits .worth $35.6 million for residential development. $618,600 for industrial activity, $5.5 million for commercial construction, and $2.1 million for institutional devel- opment. North Vancouver District's final figure consists of $67.4 million for residential housing, $3.5) million for industrial activity, $5.5 for commercial construction, $19.2 million for institutional develop- ment and $1.2 million in construc- tion.
