By Anna Marie D'Angelo News Reporter On Wednesday, forensic investigators and a police dog were concentrating their efforts with- in a roped-off area that included a park play- ground and a four-plex residential building. Meanwhile a resident living near the park criticized police for keeping the neighborhood in the dark about the incident. “They're are not telling us anything. To press time Wednesday, the woman was in a coma at Lions Gate Hospital. Police were standing by at the hospital, in the hope that the victim will regain consciousness to provide information about the attack. The assault occurred as the woman, described as being in her carly 20s, was leaving a home in the area. The victim was able to make it to a residence to call for help after she was assaulted, according toa North Vancouver RCMP spokesman. The woman is expected to survive. Her name was not released. Police did not have a suspect to press time. ae. Rete oe aa Ee REACHING EVERY DOOR ON THE NORTH SHORE SINCE ‘19 Hendricks said neighbors should be told if the woman knew her assailant. Police reportedly knocked on doors in the neighborhood and asked residents if they had heard anything suspicious between 4 a.m. and 6 a.m. on Wednesday morning. The officers would only say that a woman had been assaulted, claimed two neighbors. Neighbors said a red car parked in the area yas towed away by police on Wednesday. The police investigation continues. Ironically November is “Together Against Violence” (TAV) month on the North Shore.
