Steve “Sergio”
Sergiannidis has replaced the
old Lower Lonsdale Tasis
restaurant with a more
upscale place of seafood,
pizza and pasta.

Tasis was originally
opened in 1987 by Tasos
Collias, a veteran of the Hy's
restaurant chain. It began life
as Taso’s Steak, Pizza and
Spagherti House, bur that
handle was a little too close
to the Taso’s outlet in West
Vancouver, which Collias had
also helped found.

The restaurant went
through another name
change before ending up as
Tasis.

Collias retired from the
restaurant trade last year.

His restaurant carried on
brictly under different man-
agement before Sergiannidis
took it over in mid-April.
