Astrology creates
cosmos from chaos

A basic message of astrology is a message of order in a
seerningly disordered society, or (as in the days of primitive
humankind) in a jungle environment which seemed to
reveal but chaos, caprice of ‘‘fate,’? danger and fear.

Modern ‘‘man’’ may have con-
quered much of the physical
jungle, but he cannot yet feed
adequately two-thirds or more of
a proliferating earth population.

He has learned to use nuclear
forces, but he coldly juggles with
calculations of tens of millions of
deaths in all-out war; and modern
psyches are often reminiscent of
jungles,

Everywhere, at every moment,
great tides of change sweep: over
all existences, yet there is
foreseeable repetition; there are

patterns of transformations, cyclic .

processes at work.

There is order, as well as
change; an order immanent in all
changes.

It is an existential order, and we
need no longer see it as something
utterly transcendant, and/or exte-
rior to existential processes.

Astrology was the first human
expression of an awareness of
order. :

That there was order and struc-
ture of existence seemed such a
wonderful and supernatural thing
that, for primitive man, this could
only be the work of gods, or God.

Whether it is or not is fargely a
matter of. semantics, of defining
carefully one’s terms.

Personality is the organic whole
in which the physiological and

psychomental’ natures of:

humankind are integrated.
Therefore it. represents the

wholeness of the human being as .

a microcosm, mankind as a com-
plete image of the celestial order
