The police came and they helped a lot,”’ Lawrence said. According to West Vancouver Police spokesman Jim Almas, Lawrence called for police assistance at 8:24 p.m. Police, equipped with clubs, helmet and shields, attended at 8:45 p.m. Said Almas, ‘*Approximately 70 intoxicated people including under-age drinkers were found on the homeowner's property. At around 9:15 p.m., due to the large number of uninvited people at- tending the area, police attempted to gain contro! by setting up roadblocks,’” Almas said. At this point police turned away over 200 people who were at- tempting to join the party.
