NV trustee forecasts budget will axe 100 NORTH Vancouver school trustees passed a total operating budget of $51,970,086 Tuesday night, within the controversial restraint guidelines of the Ministry of Education. But in that action the board has set itself up for a serious confrontation with North Vancouver teachers and the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE). Although the trustees gave notice to the Ministry of Education that the budget did not include any increase in wages to teachers or CUPE members, the board will now have to tive with a budget of $2.8 million less than its 1983 budget. That, depending on the eventual salary settlements for employees could be $3.5 milhon short of what = ts necded.
