North Vancouver’s Andy Mahood moved - -into a.tie for the lead of the Canadian’: Auto Sports Club (CASC) B.C. Region Formula Ford Championship this past weekend at Westwood with two strong finishes. Driving his Pentax Cameras - CKVU sponsored Lola T-440 he scored a victory in the “National” event and placed 2nd in the “Regional” event. The “CKVU Nationals” which was held in recognition of Westwood’s 20th anniversary was a unique event in that it is the SCCA (Sports Car Club of America) National points United States. A large number of American drivers, some towing from as far away as Southern California, were up to race alongside their ‘Canadian counterparts in a series of very exciting races. - The American (SCCA) licence holders were in reality only competing amongst themselves as far as championship points were concerned as were the Canadian (CASC) drivers.
