allowed Odds to come aut of the
box the first time with a well-  ~
seasoned sound and focus.-

The follow-up to 1991's
Neopolitan kicks in all the right
places — head and groin
specifically, for this, as was the
case with the debut, is all about
Just, love and loss.

Universal hormonal stridency
reaches a raised emotional level
with the oozy pumping strut of
Heterosexual Man.

The Odds use harmony well and
back the pretty stuff with mucho
rauncho guitars throughout Bed-
bugs.

trenched sadness.

Germano as fixated flagellant

sparks a certain compelling charm
of her own. A debased happiness
is found in the semi-sweet bit-
terness of really great bad times.

Lisa sounds much like a breathy
Suzanne Vega with a cry-baby bad
attitude, But she writes her own

material and has a delicate way
with melody. Simple guitar, violin
and keyboard complement the
bounce through her karmic
clouds.

For the right mindset, Happiness
supplies pillowy ennui for the slow
drift down.
